FAQs
Who do you normally help?
We typically work with a few different types of clients, but they all have one major problem – TAXES!
The retirees who are unknowingly staring down large retirement tax bills
The corporate executives who need plans for their stock options
Business owners who are looking to limit the taxes they pay on pass throughs
These are all examples of clients we serve.
Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. Every advisor is a CFP®, and our team will always be working towards your best interest.
Do you help clients outside of Western Pennsylvania?
Yes. We have a great mix of local clients and clients from every corner of the country. We can work with clients in any of the 50 states.
What are your fees?
We charge an advisory onboarding fee of $7,200. Our AUM fee schedule is tiered and can be found below.

In order to serve our clients best, we require the management of assets for a long-term relationship. For clients who move more than $1,000,000; the advisory onboarding fee ($7,200) is credited back to the client over the first 12 months of asset management. For clients who bring less than $1,000,000; the advisory onboarding fee ($7,200) is credited back over the first 18 months of asset management.
To qualify as a client, the minimum firm portfolio size is $500,000.
How do you justify your fee?
Our clients will always have their team in their corner for all important financial decisions. And while the qualitative aspects can be hard to quantify, Vanguard’s Dalbar study shows clients who work with an advisor earn about 3% more than those who do not for assets under management annually.
Do you manage my investments?
Yes. We prefer to work with clients who allow us to manage investments so we are working with you on the same side of the table. We are independent so we have no proprietary products or sales goals to hit.
Where is our money held?
We use multiple third-party custodians that specialize in helping us manage your funds. They are:
Altruist Financial
Charles Schwab
DPL Financial Partners

While we bring you on with the idea that you are a client for life, you are free to leaves us at any time.
If you do choose to leave there are no AUM fees charged past the date of separation.
Who will my advisor be?
We have a team of very talented advisors who tend to work in teams. They all are CFP®s, which requires 4 years of work experience and a rigorous examination to earn the designation, and they are all trained on our process. All of our advisors have multiple years of experience as advisors or financial planners in addition to their CFP® requirements.
Our goal when pairing you with an advisor is to make sure there is capacity to serve your needs. This allows us to maintain our high service standard to make sure your needs are met completely. You will work with the advisor who you first meet during your discovery call in most instances.
Do you provide references?
No. We value our clients privacy and because of that we do not feel it would be appropriate to ask them for references.
Have you or anyone at the firm been disciplined by FINRA or the SEC?
No. We pride ourselves in doing great work and always acting in your interests.
